How do I export a list of companies who have visited our website or been contacted?
Last updated: April 29, 2026
Context
You may want to export data about companies that have either visited your website or been contacted through sequences for analysis or reporting purposes. This can be done through creating specific audiences and exporting the data to CSV format.
Answer
You can export company data by creating an audience with specific filters and using the export function. Here's how to do it:
To export companies contacted through sequences:
Go to the Audience Builder
Create a new audience
Under the "where" condition, scroll down to find the "sequence" filter
Set the condition to "enrolled in" "any sequence" "at any time"
Click the "Export to CSV" button in the top right corner of the audience page
Before creating audiences for export, you can preview companies that have visited your website directly from the companies tab in your dashboard. This allows you to review the data before setting up specific filters for export.
To export companies that visited your website:
Go to the Audience Builder
Create a new audience
Set up a filter for website intent. You can filter by specific criteria such as:
Page views, sessions, or visitors to your website
Specific pages (e.g., pricing page visits)
Companies that filled out inbound forms
Click “Add condition” and select “Page Views Matching” from the filtering options.
Enter the specific URL path of the page you want to filter for (e.g.,
/pricing,/product-features,/domain).Configure the relevant time zone for accurate tracking.
For more advanced filtering, combine multiple criteria using "And" and "Or" groups to create more targeted audiences
Click the "Export to CSV" button in the top right corner of the audience page
The exported CSV file will contain all the company data matching your selected filters.
Important Limitations and Workarounds for Company Data Exports
Export Limitations to Be Aware Of
Audience Naming Requirements for Successful Exports
Important: If your CSV export hangs or shows infinite loading, check your audience name for special characters. Remove any special characters (especially - or |) from the audience name in Audience settings, using only letters, numbers, and spaces. Save the updated name and try the export again. For detailed troubleshooting steps, see How to resolve audience export failures and infinite loading issues.
When exporting company data through the Audience Builder, certain fields cannot be included in the CSV export even if they're used as filters. Most notably, the record owner/account owner field is not exportable.
Workaround for missing owner data: export your company data and use a VLOOKUP function to match it with account assignments from your CRM system.
Sequence Data Export Clarification
While you can export companies that have been contacted through sequences using the Audience Builder method, sequence data itself (such as email content, send dates, or response rates) cannot be exported directly to CSV format – only the company information is included in the export.
Advanced Filtering Examples for Practical Use Cases
Companies that "finished more than X days ago" AND "did not reply to any sequence" to identify prospects needing follow‑up
Combine sequence enrollment with website activity filters to find engaged prospects who didn’t convert
What’s Actually Included in Your Export
The exported CSV will contain company data such as company name, domain, and associated contact information, but will not include certain fields like record owner even if those fields were used to filter the audience.
