How to Upload an Audience from a CSV File

To upload an audience from a CSV file in Unify, follow these simple steps:

  1. Navigate to either the "Companies" or "People" tab in your Unify dashboard.

  2. Look for the "Upload CSV" option in the top right corner of the page.

  3. Click on the "Upload CSV" button.

  4. Select your CSV file. For the People tab, your CSV needs at minimum: first name and email columns. Map the CSV columns to the appropriate fields in Unify when prompted, then complete the upload.

Once you've uploaded your CSV file, Unify will automatically create an audience based on the data in your file. This allows you to quickly import and segment your contacts or companies for targeted campaigns and analysis.

Important Notes

  • For People uploads, ensure your CSV includes at minimum: first name and email columns. You'll need to map these fields during the upload process.

  • The option to upload a CSV file may not be immediately visible in all accounts. If you don't see the "Upload CSV" button, contact Unify support for assistance.

  • CSV uploads may take 5-10 minutes to fully process. If your upload appears stuck or shows fewer contacts than expected, wait a few minutes and refresh the page before taking action.

  • Unify automatically removes duplicate contacts based on email address. If your CSV contains multiple rows with the same email, only one contact will be created.

  • Personal email domains (such as Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) are subject to global exclusions and may be filtered out during upload. If you need to include contacts with personal emails, add a Company Domain column to your CSV (e.g., for a Gmail user at Google, use google.com).

  • If you enable email enrichment during upload, contacts without enrichable email addresses will not be added to your audience. For enrichment to work, your CSV should include First Name, Last Name, and either Company Domain or LinkedIn URL.

By using this feature, you can easily create audiences from your existing data, saving time and streamlining your workflow in Unify.
