How to resolve audience export failures and infinite loading issues

If you're experiencing problems when exporting audiences to CSV format, such as infinite loading states or failed downloads, the issue may be related to special characters in your audience name.

Common symptoms

  • Export process shows loading indicators for extended periods without completing

  • CSV downloads fail and produce empty files

  • Export functionality becomes unresponsive

Solution

The most common cause of CSV export failures is the presence of special characters in the audience name. To resolve this issue:

  1. Navigate to your audience settings

  2. Check if your audience name contains special characters such as:

    • Dashes (-)

    • Pipe symbols (|)

    • Other special characters

  3. Remove all special characters from the audience name

  4. Save the updated audience name

  5. Attempt the CSV export again

Prevention

To avoid future export issues, use only alphanumeric characters and spaces when naming your audiences. Avoid using special characters like dashes, pipes, or other symbols that may interfere with the export process.
