Why do my audience counts differ between dashboards?
Last updated: October 22, 2025
If you're seeing different audience counts when comparing the Prospecting Dashboard and Audience Builder, this is typically due to exclusion settings and differences in how each dashboard measures your data.
Understanding the difference between dashboards
The key difference is what each dashboard measures:
Prospecting Dashboard: Shows total people sequenced over a specific time period
Audience Builder: Shows current audience size after applying all filters and exclusions
How to reconcile audience count discrepancies
To get accurate matching counts between dashboards, follow these steps:
1. Disable exclusions temporarily
Toggle OFF exclusions in your audience settings. Exclusions can significantly reduce your audience count and prevent alignment with analytics dashboard numbers.
2. Align time periods
Ensure the time periods match between both dashboards. Mismatched time periods can cause significant discrepancies even when exclusions are disabled. For example:
If the Prospecting Dashboard shows data for "last 4 weeks", set the audience time filter to 28 days
Make sure both dashboards are looking at the same date range
3. Check data type consistency
Verify that you're comparing the same data type (people vs companies) in both dashboard views.
Expected results
With exclusions disabled and matching time periods, the counts should align between different dashboard views. This will help you understand your true underlying audience size and identify where discrepancies are coming from.
Once you've reconciled the numbers, you can re-enable exclusions as needed for your actual campaigns while understanding how they impact your audience size.
