Understanding bulk operations for tasks and sequence enrollments

Last updated: May 4, 2026

When managing tasks and sequences in bulk, it's important to understand the difference between task-level operations and sequence-level operations, as they serve different purposes and are accessed from different locations.

Bulk operations on individual sequence steps

When viewing individual sequence steps or tasks, you can perform the following bulk operations:

  • Bulk skip tasks - Skip multiple tasks at the current step

  • Bulk mark as complete - Mark multiple tasks as completed at the current step

These operations only affect the specific step you're viewing, not the entire sequence enrollment for the contacts.

Important: Bulk unenrollment is not available when viewing individual tasks or sequence steps. This is due to the architectural design of the system.

Bulk unenrollment from sequences

To unenroll contacts from sequences in bulk, you must access the sequence directly rather than viewing it through individual tasks. Here's why:

  • Sequence-level operation: Unenrollment operates at the sequence level and cancels ALL future steps for selected contacts

  • Complete removal: Unlike task operations that affect only individual steps, unenrollment removes contacts from the entire sequence

To perform bulk unenrollment:

  1. Navigate to Sequences → Enrollments

  2. Filter or select the contacts you want to unenroll

  3. Click Unenroll

Note: Bulk unenroll operations run in batches and typically complete shortly after you trigger them.

Currently unavailable bulk operations

The following bulk operations are not currently available:

  • Bulk priority changes for sequence steps

  • Bulk deletion of tasks from the task view

Troubleshooting bulk operation visibility

If you don't see the bulk unenroll option you're looking for:

  1. Verify you're viewing the sequence directly, not through the task interface

  2. Check that you have the appropriate permissions for the sequence

  3. Ensure you're looking at the sequence enrollment view rather than individual task views

Remember: Task operations affect individual steps, while sequence operations affect entire enrollments. Choose the appropriate view based on the type of bulk operation you need to perform.
