How to set up a play to run on a recurring schedule

Last updated: April 29, 2026

You can configure your play to automatically rerun on the same records at specified intervals. This is particularly useful for ongoing monitoring or periodic checks, such as tracking hiring activity or other recurring business processes.

Setting up recurring play execution

To configure a play to run on a recurring schedule:

  1. Navigate to your play and locate the settings icon in the top right corner (directly to the left of the 'Published' button)

  2. Click the settings icon to open the play configuration options

  3. Toggle on the 'rerun' option

  4. Configure your desired cadence/frequency for the recurring runs (such as weekly, monthly, etc.). Note: The minimum cadence is 1 day.

  5. Set a cooldown period of at least 1 day between runs. The system requires a minimum 1‑day cooldown and cannot be set to 0 days.

Once configured, your play will automatically execute on the same records according to your specified schedule, eliminating the need for manual reactivation.

Important: Recurring plays do not execute immediately upon configuration. The play will run according to your specified schedule starting from the next scheduled interval. The rerun toggle automatically re-executes the play on the same records at your specified intervals. However, simply editing and republishing an existing play will not re-enroll past records. If you need to force all qualifying records (including those that previously ran) to reprocess immediately, or if you need to immediately re-execute a play on the same audience without waiting for the cooldown period, you must duplicate the play and publish or run the new version.

Use cases for recurring plays

Recurring plays are ideal for:

  • Regular monitoring of account health or engagement

  • Periodic outreach campaigns

  • Ongoing data collection and analysis

  • Scheduled follow-ups with prospects or customers

This automation ensures consistent execution of your plays without requiring manual intervention, helping you maintain regular touchpoints with your target audience.
