How to remove users and contacts from Unify
Last updated: March 8, 2026
There are several ways to remove users and contacts from Unify depending on your specific needs and situation.
Self-Service Options
Opt Out Individual Contacts
To completely remove someone from receiving future outreach:
Go to the person's profile in Unify
Click the "Opt-out" button on their profile
This will entirely remove the person from receiving future outreach from your campaigns.
Remove Users from Unify
To remove a user from Unify:
Go to Settings → Workspace → Users
Find the user you want to remove
Remove or replace the user as needed
Note: If you have a HubSpot integration, you can remove users directly in Unify without deleting them from HubSpot. This is useful when you want to keep someone active in HubSpot but remove their Unify access. Alternatively, deleting users in HubSpot will automatically sync the removal to Unify on the next sync.
Remove Companies Using Exclusions
To prevent entire companies from being included in your outreach:
Go to Settings → Exclusions
Set up an exclusion using
domainorcompany nameis one ofAdd the companies you want to exclude
Support-Assisted Deletions
For certain deletion requests, you'll need to contact Unify support:
Individual User Deletions
Contact support with the email addresses of users you need deleted. Include any regulatory deadlines or urgency in your request. Support can typically complete these deletions within one week, though they may accommodate faster timelines for regulatory compliance needs.
Bulk Contact Deletions
If you've accidentally uploaded a CSV with unwanted contacts or need to remove large numbers of contacts, support can help delete these in bulk. When requesting bulk deletions, provide as much context as possible about what needs to be removed.
Account Management
Support can also help with:
Merging duplicate organizations
Canceling duplicate accounts
Removing unwanted organizational accounts
Important Notes
If you're experiencing issues with opt-out operations appearing to fail, the opt-out may have actually completed successfully on the backend even if the frontend shows an error. Contact support if you continue to see issues.
For GDPR or other regulatory compliance deletions, be sure to mention the specific regulation and any deadlines when contacting support. Support can provide confirmation of deletion when required for compliance purposes.
