Champion Tracking Schedule and Update Timing

Last updated: April 24, 2026

Champion Tracking operates on a monthly processing schedule to monitor changes in your tracked champions' employment status and other relevant information.

How the Monthly Schedule Works

Champion Tracking runs automatically on the same anniversary date each month when tracking was originally enabled for your account. For example, if you first enabled Champion Tracking on the 15th of a month, it will continue to process updates on the 15th of every subsequent month.

Detection and Re-checking Process

When the monthly tracking run occurs, the system checks for champion departures and other status changes using the following process:

Baseline Establishment: When you first enable Champion Tracking for a champion, that moment serves as the baseline (T0). On the next scheduled monthly run, Unify retrieves the champion's current company and role information from our data provider and compares it against what exists in your CRM at that time. Champion Tracking also depends on when our data provider updates information from sources like LinkedIn, so there may be a delay between when a job change occurs and when it appears in our data.

Change Detection: If our data shows a different current company or role than your CRM, you'll see a job‑change signal reported at that run. Champion Tracking does not retroactively track job changes that occurred before tracking was enabled—it only detects changes from the point tracking begins.

Re‑checking: If a champion departure is not detected during the initial monthly check, the system will automatically re‑check that champion on the same anniversary day the following month.

Play Trigger Filters: While Champion Tracking detects all job changes from your baseline forward, the play that surfaces these changes may have its own timeframe filter. For example, if your play trigger is set to "within the last 6 months," you'll only see changes that occurred in that window, even though Champion Tracking has detected all changes since tracking began. To see all detected changes, adjust your play trigger to "ever" rather than a specific timeframe.

Note: If your CRM data is outdated when you first add a champion to tracking, Unify will detect the discrepancy and report the current company/role information on the next scheduled run. However, if a champion changed jobs before being added to tracking, that historical change will not appear in your job change signals—only changes that occur after T0 will be detected. Retroactive tracking runs are not available.

Timing of Champion List Uploads

If you upload a new champion list or make updates to your existing champions after the monthly Champion Tracking run has already occurred, those changes will not be processed immediately. Instead, the tracking updates will wait until the next scheduled monthly run.

Important: Champion tracking updates may appear "stalled" or incomplete if you upload changes between monthly processing cycles. This is expected behavior and not a system issue.

Planning Your Updates

To ensure timely processing of champion tracking updates:

  • Upload champion lists or make changes as close to your monthly anniversary date as possible

  • Be aware that updates made immediately after a monthly run will not be processed until the following month

  • Plan champion list updates around your known processing schedule for optimal timing
