Unify Chat: How Lists and Chat Work Together
Last updated: June 23, 2026
Unify Chat and the Lists tab are two sides of the same workflow. Chat is where you build and explore. Lists are where you keep what you've built and operate from. Here's how they work together.
The flow
When you ask chat to "find me 200 SaaS companies that..." or "pull contacts at these 50 accounts," chat builds a working table right there in the conversation. You can scroll through it, edit it, filter it, ask chat to add more, all in the same thread.
When you want to keep that set around (to come back to it later, to enroll it into a sequence, to share it with a teammate) you save it as a List. To do this, just ask chat: "Save this as a List called 'Q3 SaaS targets.'" Or click the Save as List button in the top right of the table. Lists live in the Lists tab and persist for as long as you need them.
The shape of a typical session:
Explore in chat. Iterate on an audience: refine the criteria, add filters, ask follow-up questions, check who's in and who's missing.
Save as a List when the set is ready to act on.
Operate from the Lists tab: enroll in a sequence, export, share with the team.
What the Lists tab does
The Lists tab is your library of saved audiences. It gives you:
A directory of every saved List in your workspace.
A way to open any List, filter it, sort it, edit it.
A path to enroll a List into a sequence, export it, or share it with teammates.
Activity over time: who's been added, who's been enrolled, who's replied.
You can also create a List directly from the Lists tab without going through chat (useful when you already have a saved view or a CSV to bring in).
Pulling Lists back into chat
A List doesn't get "stuck" in the Lists tab. You can pull a saved List back into chat at any time and continue working on it:
"Open my 'Q3 SaaS targets' List and add 50 more accounts that match the same criteria."
"From my 'Webinar attendees, June' List, find me the VP of Marketing at each company."
"Show me my 'Stage 3 SFDC accounts' List and write a personalized re-engagement email for each."
The List stays the source of truth; chat just helps you do more with it.
When to use which
Goal | Where to go |
|---|---|
Explore an audience, iterate quickly | Chat |
Save a polished set you'll come back to | Save as List from chat |
Browse what you and your team have built | Lists tab |
Enroll a set into a sequence | Either. Chat can do it directly; Lists tab also has an Enroll action |
Refine an existing List | Either. Open it in chat if you want to refine the list (find more records, apply new filters, rewrite the criteria); use the Lists tab for direct manual filtering |
TL;DR
Chat is where you build. Lists are where you keep what you've built. You can move back and forth between them freely.
