How to reassign sequences to newly warmed mailboxes
Last updated: April 23, 2026
After connecting warmed mailboxes to Unify, you'll need to reassign your sequences to use the new mailboxes. This ensures that new enrollments will use your newly connected warmed mailboxes instead of continuing to use previously configured mailboxes.
Important: The reassignment process only affects queued Step 1 emails that haven't been sent yet. Mid-sequence scheduled emails (after Step 1) cannot be bulk-reassigned and must be handled manually if needed. Additionally, contacts already enrolled in a sequence before you change routing will keep their originally assigned mailbox.
Steps to reassign sequence enrollments
Navigate to Dashboard > Health > Email Backlog
Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the "Reassign Sequence enrollments" section
For each sequence you want to update, click "Reassign Enrollments"
Select all the new mailboxes you want to use for that sequence
Click "Reassign" to apply the changes
Important notes
Reassignment scope and limitations:
Reassignment only updates queued Step 1 emails in the backlog
Mid-sequence scheduled emails (after Step 1) cannot be bulk-reassigned
If you need to change the sender for mid-sequence emails, you must complete them manually and ensure the composer shows your desired mailbox in "Queue to send"
Contacts already enrolled before you change routing will keep their originally assigned mailbox
Play-level vs. sequence-level routing:
If you change routing at the play level (e.g., after cloning a play), you still need to reassign at the sequence level using the steps above
Routing changes apply only to new enrollments after the change is made
Keep in mind that mailboxes created with certain providers may not display warmup status in the Unify interface, even when they are fully warmed and ready to use. This is a display limitation and doesn't affect the functionality of your warmed mailboxes.
Once you've completed the reassignment process, your sequences will automatically begin using the newly connected warmed mailboxes for future Step 1 enrollments.
