Unify MCP: use case and best practices

Last updated: August 24, 2026

Unify MCP connects Unify directly to the AI tools you already use, including Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex. You ask in plain language and Unify does the work. This guide covers what you can do with it and how to get the best results.

Start here: 3 things to try first

Just connected? Run these three in order. They take a few minutes and show the range of what Unify can do inside your AI client, from reading your data to finding new pipeline to updating your CRM.

1. Ask a question about your own data

Start with something you already know the answer to, so you can see it working against your real numbers.

"How many of our mailboxes are at risk or unauthenticated right now, and which domains do they belong to?"

2. Build a list from your ICP

Describe who you want to reach and let Unify find them and enrich the contacts.

"Find Series B SaaS companies in North America with 50 to 200 employees that are hiring SDRs, and get me a verified email for the VP of Sales at each."

3. Update your CRM without leaving the chat

Close the loop. Make a change in Salesforce or HubSpot from the same window.

"Update the stage on the Acme opportunity to Discovery and set the next step to a demo next Tuesday."

Starter prompts

Copy any of these and adjust to your own accounts, personas, and time windows.

Prospect and enrich

  • "Find companies like [your best customer] and get me the RevOps leader at each with a verified email."

  • "Enrich this list of domains with headcount, funding stage, and the CEO's LinkedIn."

  • "Which of these accounts have hired a new VP of Sales in the last 90 days?"

Build lists and sequence

  • "Build a list of accounts that visited our pricing page in the last 14 days with no open opportunity."

  • "Create a three-step email sequence for that list aimed at RevOps leaders, and enroll everyone on it."

  • "Draft outbound copy for the VP of Sales persona and show me a preview before anything sends."

Report on your data

  • "What's our reply rate across active sequences this month, and which sequence is highest?"

  • "Show me manual tasks per rep this week and who has the most overdue."

  • "How do our saved personas compare on reply rate and converted meetings?"

Work your CRM

  • "Look up the Acme account and tell me which fields on the opportunity are still blank."

  • "Update the owner on these five accounts to [rep name]."

  • "Create a contact in HubSpot from this person in Unify and fill in what we know."

What you can do

Prospect

Find companies and people that fit your ICP, then pull in the firmographic, contact, and signal data you need to act.

"Find Series B SaaS companies in North America with 50 to 200 employees that are hiring SDRs, and get me a verified email for the VP of Sales at each."

Build lists

Turn any set of results into a Unify list you can sequence, enroll, or hand to your team.

"Build a list of the accounts that visited our pricing page in the last 14 days and don't have an open opportunity."

Sequence

Create a sequence end to end, generate copy, and enroll or unenroll contacts.

"Create a three-step email sequence for the list I just built, aimed at RevOps leaders, and enroll everyone on it."

Write back to your CRM

Update owners, stages, deals, and custom fields in Salesforce and HubSpot without leaving your AI client.

"Update the stage on the Acme opportunity to Discovery and set the next step to a demo next Tuesday."

Analyze performance

Ask questions about your Unify data and get answers back in seconds. The agent is strongest at:

  • Deliverability and mailbox health. Mailbox counts, at-risk and unauthenticated domains, bounce and open rates.

  • Sequence performance. Reply rates, top sequences, and how enrollments are trending.

  • Rep and task activity. Tasks per rep, overdue tasks, and activity volume.

  • Persona performance. How your saved personas compare once you tell it which persona you mean.

"How many of our mailboxes are at risk or unauthenticated right now, and which domains do they belong to?"

Getting the best results

A few habits make answers faster and more accurate.

  1. Name your source of truth. If you have both Salesforce and HubSpot connected, say which one to use. It keeps numbers consistent.

  2. Give it a time window. "This quarter," "the last 30 days," or a specific date range removes guesswork.

  3. Define the metric when it matters. Terms like "connect rate" or "sourced pipeline" can mean different things. Tell it how you count so the answer matches your reporting.

  4. Answer its clarifying questions. The agent does its best work when it asks a question and you answer it, rather than guessing. Treat the back and forth as a feature.

  5. Name the rep or owner for "my team" questions. It can't yet map you to a CRM owner automatically, so specify whose book or accounts you mean.

  6. Trust it when it says it can't. The agent will tell you when it doesn't have something rather than invent a number. If it declines, the data isn't there to pull.

Good to know

  • The agent inherits your workspace's default exclusion set. It cannot surface or act on records you've excluded, and it cannot bypass those rules.

  • Plays are created and managed in the Unify app, not through the agent.

  • For pipeline and attribution questions, define what "sourced by Unify" means for you so the numbers stay consistent across runs.

  • Dialer and call analytics are still maturing. Expect the strongest results in deliverability, sequences, tasks, and personas.

Getting set up

An admin connects Unify once, then each teammate connects and installs the Unify plugin. See the setup guide for step by step instructions for Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
