Why can't I paste multiple lines into Smart Snippets?
Last updated: August 20, 2025
Context
When working with Smart Snippets, users often prepare their prompts or content in external editors and try to copy-paste them into the Smart Snippet input field. However, users encounter difficulties when attempting to paste text containing multiple lines, paragraphs, or formatted content like bullet points.
Answer
Currently, pasting multi-line content (text containing line breaks or new line characters) into Smart Snippets is not supported due to technical limitations with the snippet editor implementation.
As a temporary workaround, you can:
Paste your content one paragraph at a time into the snippet editor
Remove any line breaks from your text before pasting
Type the content directly in the snippet editor
Important notes:
Single paragraphs of text can be pasted successfully
Formatted text elements like bullet points are not supported
The "Enter" key (new line character) creates the limitation when pasting
This limitation only affects snippet input fields - the Agent input field supports multi-line paste functionality normally.
